Play for Pink

A great way to have fun while raising money for a worthy cause. Sunday, August 20th. Shelter Rock gives back by hosting “Play for Pink” in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There are many ways to be involved, including playing tennis! If you are interested in helping out in any way other than playing tennis, please contact Ellen Fuller, the Play for Pink Committee Chairperson.

A few important bits of info from our playbook…

Game Arranging

Game Arranging is one of the best things we do at SRTCC. It is a challenge for the Pro Staff to organize week in and week out. It is very important that you don’t cancel at the last minute unless it is necessary, or show up without signing up. If possible, make every attempt to show up. Cancelling at the last minute makes the process of organizing this difficult and ensures a delayed start.

Court Etiquette

  • Crossing over the court is not allowed, even if it’s a shorter route to your court. It is only acceptable if the players on the court give you permission.
  • Please be courteous when walking behind a court people. Wait for the point to be over, move quickly, and and respect the players by keeping silent.
  • Please don’t use your phone when you are around any tennis court
  • Let the group about to be replaced finish their point.

Dress Code

Please remember to abide by the SRTCC dress code when playing tennis on our outdoor courts. And members, please do not approach another member about his or her attire. It is best to make a staff member or board member know about the situation and let them handle it.

Our Pro Staff

Interested in working on your forehand? Net game? Whole game?

Private, semi-private or small group drills and lessons are a great way to boost your game. Our tennis pros are available and have time to help perfect your serve, improve your topspin, work on your footwork or anything else you might want to work on. Contact the Pro Shop for times and availability.

The weekly tennis schedule is listed below. All events listed in italics require that you sign up in advance. Sign-up sheets are on the large bulletin board, or you can email shelterrocktc@aol.com with your name and in which tournament or game arranging you would like to participate.
