Shelter Rock ‘Plays for Pink!’

At Shelter Rock, we’re a community who believes in being there for each other and when one of our own was diagnosed with breast cancer, we took up the cause. Now in its 4th year, Shelter Rock’s ‘Play for Pink’, in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, has raised in excess of $210,000 for breast cancer research, setting a new record amount raised each year. That’s the most of ANY tennis club on Long Island!

And what a glorious day it is! The courts are filled with men’s, women’s and mixed doubles’ teams competing throughout the day. Giant sponsor banners and autographed tennis balls line the fences as members and guests join in to support this great cause. A little boutique shopping adds another dimension to the fun.

The day ends with a delicious barbecue dinner in our beautifully decorated dining room as winners are announced, prizes awarded and hugs exchanged for all those who prevailed and participated, both on and off the court.   It’s a day we’re all truly proud of at the Rock as it illustrates the heart and spirit of our membership.
